Recently I have started noticing an increase in Google+ Users and Twitter accounts claiming to be GMail customer service and providing a phone number. I thought it would be prudent to put out a warning to those that are looking for customer support from Google.
UNLESS YOU HAVE A GOOGLE APPS/GAFE ACCOUNT, THERE IS NO PHONE NUMBER OR EMAIL TO REACH GOOGLE FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Let me repeat that.

Hi Scott, thank you for putting up a notice about the 1-800 support numbers. It's not only Gmail, these numbers are claiming to be support for many other services too including Yahoo Mail. Yahoo Answers has been overrun with spam. I wish they'd shut it down like AOL did with their Q&A site. I big part of the problem seems to be that while text based spamming gets blocked, now these guys are using images and the abuse systems of some services aren't able to figure out something bad is going on simply from the unnatural number of posts coming off of new accounts, etc. It's a problem across lots of channels including many of the Q&A sites, Facebook, and Twitter.

ReplyDeleteHey Scott I am posting for my wife. she recently got a message saying her account had been changed and she tried sending a new password change to her fallow up emails but she can't get into that one either. What could she do to recover her Email?
