Update 6/22/15: Over the weekend, undo send, one of the most popular Gmail Labs has left the lab and gone permanent. Instead of needing to enable a lab, just go to the general tab of your settings page and turn it on or off, and set the duration. If you already had the lab enabled, the setting with default to enabled.
Have you ever written an email in Gmail and hit the send too quickly? Did you ever wish you had the ability to unsend that email. Guess what, in Gmail you do have that option. In the Gmail labs there is an Undo Send feature that once enabled you will be given the option at the top of the screen to undo the send. To activate Undo Send, follow the steps below:
- Click on the Gear Icon on the top right and choose settings
- Select the Labs Tab
- Search for "Undo Send"
- Click Enable
- Scroll Down to the bottom and click save
- Go back to Settings
- Click on the General Tab
- Scroll down to Undo Send
- Ensure Enable Undo Send is Checked
- Set the Cancellation period: 5, 10, 20 or 30 seconds
- Scroll Down to the bottom and click save
Now every time you send an email you will have the option to undo the send at the top of the screen like this, notice the Undo option?
