Sometimes its just a big hassle to have to open a separate tab just to view your calendar or agenda while you are working your Gmail. Wouldn't it be great if you could just view your calendar right on your Gmail page?
Guess what? You can. By simply enabling the Gmail Lab Calendar Gadget you get just that, a box on the left hand side that displays your calendar with upcoming events, locations and details. Just got to settings under the gear icon on the top right and choose the Labs tab. Once in the Labs tab you can either scroll down until you find the Calendar Gadget or use the search box to search for it. Once found, just click on Enable, then save at the bottom of the screen.
You will now see a calendar displayed on the left side of the screen with all of your events and associated details. Once the gadget is displayed you can select which of your calendars are displayed and whether or not you show past events. One of the best features of this gadget is you can add a new calendar event with a quick add event dialogue without even leaving Gmail.

Great idea but it's way too small. Too bad the gadget can't be resized.
