Emojis are everywhere, and they are too numerous to count. Even worse is trying to sift through all the emojis to select the right one. 
Now that entire process has been made a heck of a lot easier. The Gmail team has added a search function to the emoji selection. By entering a search term, only the relevant emojis will be shown to the users, making it much easier to insert an appropriate emoji. 
I am sure this will make everyone's emoji life in Gmail much more pleasant.
